105 mph Sally rakes coast! 100 mph Teddy to become Cat 4; Euro shows it hitting Bermuda and Maine:

Hurricane Sally:

The HWRF model once again proved to be right as Sally deepened to 965 mb with 105 mph maximum sustained winds with higher gusts as the eye is about to make landfall on the coast near the AL/FL border. Some slight strengthening is still possible in the next few hours. It's only moving at 3 mph to the NNE. Historic and life-threatening rainfall totals of 20 to 35 inches are expected. The heavy rain will spread into northern GA, western SC, and NC (see all images below). Strong wind gusts (possibly 45 to 60 mph) can also be expected when it hits the coast near the Outer Banks of NC and near Virginia Beach.

Hurricane Teddy:

Teddy rapidly intensified overnight into a 100 mph hurricane, and it's expected to become a Cat 4 hurricane by tomorrow night. The track has shifted westward, and Bermuda really needs to watch this closely, as well as Nova Scotia. The new Euro run hooks it into extreme northeastern Maine with hurricane-force gusts, but most of the Euro ensembles take it more into Nova Scotia.

Tropical Storm Vicky:

Very strong wind shear is finally taking a toll on Vicky, and it's expected to become a remnant low on Friday. It still currently has 50 mph maximum sustained winds.

Hurricane Paulette:

Paulette still has 100 mph maximum sustained winds, but it's racing to the ENE and will become extratropical later today. It will eventually move to the south though, and it's possible that it could eventually regain subtropical or tropical characteristics as it moves back over warmer waters.

Long Island forecast:

Tomorrow: Increasing clouds with highs mostly in the upper 70's.

Friday: Cloudy with a 20% chance of a morning shower, and then mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs mostly in the upper 60's. The rain shield from the remnants of Sally should stay just to the southeast of Long Island.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and breezy with very low humidity with highs mostly in the mid 60's.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with very low humidity with highs mostly in the mid 60's.

Monday: Mostly sunny with low humidity with highs mostly in the  mid to upper 60's.
