4th of July, Long Island Weather For This Week, and the Potential For Tropical Development.

Happy Independence Day to all, and thank you so much for visiting my new website! Please feel free to provide feedback and suggestions,

The weather for today, the 4th of July, looks perfect for Long Island with partly to mostly sunny skies and temps in the mid 80's. Tomorrow looks great as well with mostly sunny skies and temps in the low to mid 80's. Clouds will be on the increase on Thursday as a frontal system approaches and Friday looks to be rainy (see the image below showing the location of the storm and rain at 8:00 PM on Friday), However, the rain should be ending Saturday morning, and the sun should come out in the afternoon. The early look at next week is for great weather from Sunday to Tuesday.

There has been a lot of internet chatter regarding the potential for a hurricane to develop in the Atlantic and approach the east coast later next week. The models have been jumping around a bit, and the latest is that development is possible, but most of the models are showing a weaker storm. At this point, it does not seem likely to threaten the United States. I will continue to update with the latest information. This image below shows the general track of the storm, which is not even classified as a Tropical Depression yet. If it does become a named storm, the next name on the list is Don.
