After Today, a Wet Week for Long Island
After another beautiful day today on Long Island, the rest of the week will bring on and off showers. There should be a break on Wednesday, but Thursday and Friday look particularly rainy. The image below shows total rainfall amounts of between 1.5 and 2 inches expected through Friday.

As of now, the weather looks pretty good for the weekend, but we have to watch a frontal system that should bring some showers late Saturday night into Sunday morning. As long as the front doesn't stall, it should clear up in time for Sunday afternoon.
As for the tropics, the GFS is still the only model showing the development of a hurricane in the Atlantic and heading into the Caribbean. The run from this morning though is weaker, so it's still something we just have to keep an eye on, but nothing at all to worry about yet.
