Long Island Weather for This Week and Weekend

This week is shaping up to be a much drier week than last week on Long Island. High temperatures should mostly be in the 80's, although some locations could touch 90 degrees later in the week. There is only a very slight chance of a late afternoon thunderstorm each day, but most locations will remain dry most of the week. The best chance of a couple of showers could be overnight Thursday into very early Friday morning with the passage of a cold front. This should lead to nice days on Friday and Saturday. We have to watch for the potential of some unsettled weather for Sunday and next Monday. The map below shows the expected rainfall totals through this Saturday, and it's showing very low amounts for Long Island of less than a half inch of rain.
