Long Island on Northern Fringe of Storm; What's in Store the Remainder of the Weekend?


Long Island is on the northern fringe of the storm and may only see a few showers this morning, but it will be cloudy and breezy today with temperatures in the mid 70's. Tomorrow should be mostly sunny and close to 80 degrees. Monday will also be mostly sunny, but a bit warmer with temperatures in the low to mid 80's. The following image from the HRRR model shows expected rainfall amounts through tonight, and you can see the sharp north-south cutoff in the rain amounts as high pressure over the Great Lakes helped to protect New England from the storm:
