Timing the Thunderstorms and an Update on Harvey
It looks like there will be a period of showers and thunderstorms on Long Island from approximately 8 AM to 11 AM today, and then there should be a break where it's fairly dry with only a scattered shower. However, there will be a 2nd batch of strong thunderstorms arriving with the cold front passage sometime between 10 PM and 2 AM. It should clear out tomorrow morning and bring beautiful weather for tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, and Monday. Skies should be sunny with a passing moon on Monday with the eclipse!
Tropical Storm Harvey is heading west in the Caribbean Sea, and it should head into Central America early next week. It has the potential to strengthen, but it will probably not make it to hurricane status. The European and Canadian models are hinting at the next storm, which would be Irma, to form in the coming days.
