Multiple Storms to Bring Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds Coming to Long Island
The dry weather on Long Island is coming to an end as a strong frontal system will bring periods of heavy rain and strong winds Tuesday into Wednesday. It will also be a very slow moving system, so the rain will generally be from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday night. The heaviest rain and strongest winds will occur late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Most areas will see between 2 and 3 inches of rain, with some amounts as high as 4 inches possible. Southerly winds will gust from 30 to 40 mph Tuesday afternoon into early Wednesday morning, with isolated 50 mph gusts possible. The rain may linger into early Thursday morning over eastern Long Island.
There also appears to be another rain storm coming to Long Island around October 30th, with the potential for another 2 to 3 inches of rain. I will update more on this second storm as it gets closer.
