Arctic Blast Coming to Long Island
Enjoy the temperatures in the 50's today because an Arctic cold front will pass tonight bringing record cold to Long Island. Temperatures tomorrow afternoon will be in the 30's with wind gusts over 30 mph, which will make it feel even colder. A Freeze Watch has been issued from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning as temperatures will drop into the low 20's. This will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and end the growing season for 2017. On Saturday, after a frigid start, temperatures will approach 40 degrees and there will be much less wind. Any showers should hold off until Monday morning.
