Update on the Storm This Weekend for Long Island and the Weather Next Week

- It looks like the center of the storm will be moving west of Long Island into western NJ. - Rain on Long should begin tomorrow sometime between 3 PM and 6 PM. I know many people have events on Saturday and the timing is critical. Some of the models show some showers as early as 1 PM, but I don't think it will start that early. I will update the timing more later. - It looks like 1 to 2 inches of rain with wind gusts up to 40 mph possible. Wind gusts off the coast of NJ could reach 60 mph. Heavier rain amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible for western NJ and eastern PA. - Sunday afternoon should be mostly dry, but it looks like showers and storms Sunday night into Monday morning with some heavy downpours. - Most of Tuesday and Wednesday should be dry, but there is still a chance of a scattered thunderstorm. The main area of storms will be west of NYC. - Showers and thunderstorms return for Thursday into Friday morning again with heavy downpours possible. - Another area of showers and thunderstorms will return for later next weekend. - The 1st image is showing total rainfall from the Euro for the next 10 days. - The 2nd image is showing wind gusts from the Euro for 2 AM Sunday.
