Long Island Forecast and an Update on the Tropics

- Today: Partly to mostly cloudy, very warm and humid with highs in the upper 80's. Slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. - Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Probably some between 9 PM and midnight and then more towards early Saturday morning. - Saturday: Mostly cloudy, warm and humid with highs in the mid to upper 80's. 30% chance of some showers in the early morning and again in the evening. - Sunday: Rain with highs only in the low 70's. The Euro is showing 3 to 5 inches of rain still, but it won't be that bad. Most likely it will be around 1 inch of rain. - Monday: Mostly cloudy with temps in the mid to upper 70's. - Tuesday: Partly cloudy with increasing afternoon clouds with temps in the upper 70's. Rain Tuesday night. - Wednesday: Rain ending in the morning possibly. - Thursday and Friday look good with lower humidity, but there is some uncertainty if more rain returns on Friday. - Ernesto has actually made the transition from a subtropical storm to a tropical storm, which is quite remarkable considering how far north it is. It will be rain and gusty winds to the British Isles. - Hurricane Lane still looks to pass just south of Hawaii next week. - 1st image: Model blend temps - 2nd image: Ernesto - 3rd image: Lane
