Hurricane Florence a Major Threat to East Coast With North Carolina Being Most Likely for Landfall
Please see the "My Personal Weatherman" Facebook page for continual updates.
*Afternoon Model Runs Continue to Target North Carolina*
- The Euro, UKMET, HWRF, GFS, and FV3-GFS (Upgraded GFS) all have Hurricane Florence make landfall in North Carolina later this week. - A huge problem will be the extreme slow-down and stall (meander) of the storm once it makes landfall, leading to the possibility of a "Harvey-like" situation with rainfall amounts over 30 inches being possible. - Rapid intensification of Florence is likely in the next 36 hours bringing it to Category 4 strength with 145 mph winds.
