Long Island Weather, the Tropics, and North Carolina

- The good news is that after today, there doesn't look to be much rain at all for North Carolina for the next 5 to 7 days. - It looks like the tropics should be fairly quiet for the next 7 to 10 days, but I don't think we've seen the last of the named storms. - For Long Island, the heaviest rain from the remnants of Florence will be north of us, but we can still get close to an inch of rain and some possibly heavy downpours in thunderstorms tomorrow. Wind gusts will mostly only be up to 25 mph. - 1st image: Projected rainfall from the short-range HRRR model. - 2nd image: Temps for Long Island from the Euro model showing the cooler weather late in the period.
