Two Storms With Rain for Long Island and Snow Well Inland
- Rain develops from west to east later this afternoon with moderate to heavy rain between 6 PM and midnight with Flash Flood Watches in effect. It will also be windy, and it's possible that 40 to 50 mph wind gusts could mix down to the surface during periods of heavier rain. - Windy and chilly behind the storm tomorrow with wind gusts over 35 mph and temps in the 40's for Long Island. - Sunny with a lighter breeze on Sunday with temps in the 40's. - The next storm approaches for Monday night into Tuesday evening with rain and windy conditions again. There is the potential for 45 mph wind gusts. Snow will again be confined to the same areas as the storm for tonight, which will be western NY and interior and northern New England. - Very cold and windy next Wednesday behind the storm. Cold weather will continue next Thursday, but the winds will lessen.
