Cold Air Coming to Long Island With the Potential for Snow Next Weekend

Very cold air is poised to move into the northeast later this week and weekend. Temperatures may only be around 30 degrees for afternoon highs on Long Island. Also, a storm system will be approaching, but it's possible that the cold high pressure system to the north will keep the storm from turning up the coast. While the GFS model (1st image) keeps the storm to the south of Long Island, the Euro has the storm a little further north, and the FV3-GFS (2nd image) brings the storm up the coast and into New England.
