Long Island Snow Update
- Snow should begin today in Nassau between 12:00 and 1:00 and in Suffolk between 1:00 PM and 3:00 from west to east. 2 to 3 inches for Nassau and 1 to 2 inches for Suffolk before changing to sleet and freezing rain briefly and then changing to rain between 6:00 and 8:00 from southwest to northeast on Long Island.
- Rain for Saturday night into Sunday afternoon.
- The main Euro run has backed off on the potential blizzard for next Wednesday as its only showing a weaker storm with a few inches of snow. Several of the ensembles are still showing heavier snow though. It's just too soon to tell, and I wouldn't rule out anything at this time. It depends on the timing and location of potential phasing of energy from the southern and northern jet streams.
- 10 of the 51 Euro ensembles are showing 15 inches or more of snow for Long Island in the next 15 days. We have the 2 of 3 inches today, and then we have the potential for next Wednesday, and then we have potential in the March 3rd to 6th time-frame.
