- For Long Island, Cloudy and chilly today with a chance of some light rain or drizzle, mostly this afternoon into this evening with highs only in the upper 40's. Mostly sunny tomorrow with highs in the low 60's, expect cooler on the south shore and east end. Increasing clouds on Wednesday with a slight chance of a shower with highs in the upper 50's. Windy on Thursday with periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm in the evening/night. Wind gusts of 25 to 40 mph are expected. This will be a slow-moving system with lingering showers on Friday with highs both Thursday and Friday around 60 degrees. The sun should come out by Saturday afternoon with highs in the mid 60's. Partly cloudy and mid 60's on Sunday with only a slight chance of a late-day shower, but there is still some uncertainty.
