A look at the upcoming temperatures and any chances of rain/snow as the huge snowstorm will be west:
The details for Long Island are in the forecast below, but today will be a little cooler than yesterday, but tomorrow and Friday will be very mild! The front will bring a chance of a few light showers Friday morning, but the sun should come out in the afternoon. It will be much cooler this weekend and become progressively colder with Monday being the coldest with highs only around 40 degrees on Long Island. It will also be breezy this weekend, especially Sunday. The system for Monday night into Tuesday should stay south of our area. There may be some rain around Wednesday/Thursday. The chances for snow are still slim, but not zero.
There will be a massive snowstorm out west this weekend for parts of Colorado, Wyoming, and western Nebraska/South Dakota with some areas getting 20 to 40 inches of snow!
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Mostly sunny and a little cooler with highs ranging from the mid to upper 50's in northwest Nassau to the upper 40's to low 50's for southeastern Suffolk. Wind nearly calm in the morning and then out of the SSE in the afternoon at only 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with lows around 40 degrees. Light winds mostly out of the south at around 5 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy in the morning and then partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon and very mild with highs ranging from the low to mid 60's in Nassau to the low 60's for central to western Suffolk, and mid to upper 50's for southeastern Suffolk. Wind out of the SSW to SW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
Friday: Cloudy in the morning with a chance of some light showers, and then becoming mostly sunny by mid-afternoon. Mild with highs ranging from the mid 60's in Nassau to the low 60's for most of Suffolk, but upper 50's for southeastern Suffolk. Wind mostly out of the W to WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the mid to upper 40's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 20 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the mid 40's. Wind out of the WNW to NW at 15 to 25 mph.
Monday: Mostly sunny with highs only in the low 40's.
