A lot more cloud cover for the rest of the week and especially weekend, but still mild/warm:
- While there will be chances for showers each day on Long Island from Friday through Monday, there won't be any washouts with all-day rain, and it will remain mild/warm going forward.
- It will be much cooler today from eastern Long Island through southeastern New England with highs only in the 50's.
- Overall, not a lot of rainfall is expected for Long Island and southern New England for the next 7 days (see 4th image)
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Partly to mostly cloudy and still breezy with highs in the mid 60's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the NE at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with lows in the low 50's in Nassau and western Suffolk and upper 40's in eastern Suffolk. Wind out of the NE at around 10 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy in the morning and partly sunny in the afternoon with highs around 70 degrees in Nassau and in the upper 60's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the ENE at 10 to 15 mph.
Tomorrow night: Increasing clouds with a chance of light showers after midnight with lows in the mid 50's in Nassau and low 50's in Suffolk. Wind out of the ENE at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday: Cloudy with a 30% chance of some light scattered showers with highs in the mid to upper 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind generally out of the ENE at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Cloudy with a 50% chance of a few showers with highs in the low 70's in Nassau and in the upper 60's to around 70 in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SE at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of a shower with highs around 70 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SSW at 10 to 15 mph.
Monday: Partly to mostly cloudy with a chance of steadier showers and possibly a weak thunderstorm in the evening as a cold front moves through. Highs in the low 70's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SSW at 10 to 20 mph.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with highs in the low 70's. Wind out of the W at 10 to 20 mph.
