Active period ahead with around 4 inches of rain for Long Island, 5 inches of rain for southeastern MA, and snow for the mountains of northern NY/New England, and there will also be plenty of wind:

- Generally only around a half-inch of rain or less today for Long Island.

- The rain that arrives mostly around Noon or so tomorrow will become heavy at times in the late afternoon and through the evening into the early morning hours of Thursday, so it will be pretty wild out there with generally 2 to 2.5 inches of rain expected. Max wind gusts will also be generally around 30 mph on Long Island (higher east) and 45 mph or so for southeastern New England.

- There is some timing uncertainty for the weekend storm as the Euro and Canadian don't have the rain arrive until Saturday night. After shifting a bit farther north with the track and therefore the snow, the models seems to have shifted back south to where they were previously, and all of the models have a good snowstorm for the mountains of northern NY/ New England with plenty of rain and wind farther south with the wind lasting through Monday.

- Stay tuned for more updates!
