An overview and the Long Island forecast:

- It still looks like a pretty good chance of a Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico towards mid-month, but nothing is imminent.

- After humid weather with periods of showers and thunderstorms today and tomorrow on Long Island, Saturday to Wednesday looks like a dry and very warm stretch of weather before more seasonable highs of 75 to 80 degrees return for next weekend and mid-month.
