Another nice day today, and it will be very warm inland. Then we have the humidity with some heavier showers and thunderstorms followed by the closed-off upper level low:

- Not as warm/hot for the coast today with an onshore flow and there is some early fog, but overall another very nice day ahead.

- Humidity increases tomorrow and there will be fog again early, and then the warm front approaches late tomorrow night into Thursday, and it will be mild, breezy, and very humid with a period of some showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy downpours for very late tomorrow night through Thursday morning or into early afternoon as the exact coverage and timing is a little uncertain. There is still a chance of showers Thursday later in the afternoon until the cold front clears.

- For Friday through the weekend, the closed-off upper level low will be spinning over the area so there will be periods of scattered showers for mostly inland areas and mostly from afternoon into early evening as they are diurnally drive, and with a cold pool of air aloft, a thunderstorm is also possible with hail. The National Weather Service covering NYC, Long Island, and nearby areas explains it well... "While not an entire washout, the sprawling cutoff low will likely instigate diurnal showers each day, especially inland. With the cold pool aloft, also can't rule out the possibility of thunderstorms. The showers may be enhanced at times by shortwaves rotating around in the flow, and periods of steadier rain are certainly possible depending on the placement and strength of these features."
