- Today will be perfect weather for the first full day or spring with sunny skies and very mild temperatures (see 2nd image).
- There will be some showers at times from late tomorrow night into Friday morning and then a brief break before a rainy and breezy Saturday into Saturday night with some snow mainly for the higher elevations of central to northern NY/New England. The main storm will cut to the west, and as we have seen many times lately, a secondary storm will form near Long Island and track northeastward.
- Another storm looks to impact the northeast early next week with snow possible again mainly for the higher elevations of central to northern NY/New England.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Sunny with highs around 60 degrees in Nassau and northwestern Suffolk and upper 50's elsewhere, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SW at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight: Becoming mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 30's in Nassau and mid to upper 30's in Suffolk, but some low 30's in the Pine Barrens area. Wind out of the WSW/SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy with some partial filtered sunshine with highs in the mid to upper 50's in Nassau and mid 50's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the S at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Tomorrow night: Cloudy with a slight chance of light scattered showers after midnight with lows in the mid 40's in Nassau and low 40's in Suffolk. Wind out of the S/SSW at 10 to 15 mph.
Thursday: Cloudy with showers at times with highs in the low 60's in Nassau and northwestern Suffolk and near 60 elsewhere, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Friday: Cloudy with a 40% chance of morning showers with highs in the low 50's. Wind out of the NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Rainy and breezy with highs in the upper 40's. Wind out of the ENE at 10 to 15 mph in the morning and 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph in the afternoon/evening.
Sunday: Partly cloudy and windy with highs in the low to mid 50's in Nassau and low 50's in Suffolk. Wind out of the WNW at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph.
Monday: Increasing clouds with a chance of showers in the afternoon with highs in the low 50's. Wind out of the N at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SSE at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
