- By now, you all know the deal with the upper level low spinning through the northeast with much cooler weather and showers at times which could contain a downpour and even small hail due to the cold pool of air aloft (see future radar video below). While there will be some showers at times this morning on Long Island, any shower on Wednesday to Friday would have the best chance each afternoon. It will be breezy today, but then mainly lighter winds the rest of the week.

LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Cloudy, breezy, and cool with scattered showers at times in the morning with a chance of a shower in the afternoon with any shower being capable of producing a brief downpour and even hail with highs in the low to mid 50's. Wind out of the SW/WSW at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of a shower with lows in the mid 40's in Nassau and low 40's in Suffolk. Wind out of the WSW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy and cool with a 30% chance of some widely scattered afternoon showers with any shower being capable of producing a brief downpour and even hail with highs in the low to mid 50's. Wind out of the WSW/SW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow night: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower with lows in the low to mid 40's in Nassau and low 40's in Suffolk. Wind generally light and variable at 5 mph or less.
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of some widely scattered afternoon showers with highs in the mid 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NNE/NE at around 10 mph.
Friday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of an afternoon shower highs in the mid to upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NE then E at around 5 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the N at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Sunny with highs in the low 70's in Nassau and around 70 degrees in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Monday: Sunny with highs in the low 70's, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and out of the WSW/SW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
