Brief update on the potential northeast storm for next weekend:

You can see from the 1st image that there is the potential for a strong storm, but the exact track/location is still uncertain. As of now, the odds slightly favor a track near the coast, but there is a wide range of possible outcomes still. Starting tomorrow, I will be posting the ensembles maps, but I have included the Long Island snow matrix in the 2nd image. The 3rd image is the National Weather Service snow map for tonight through tomorrow night.

The trend has been north for LI all “winter”. Rain and wind again.

Yes, the chances are fairly low for a mostly or all snow event for Long Island, but let's see how it evolves the next few days. I certainly wouldn't look past this storm.
