My Personal Weatherman™
Classic early August heat and humidity with scattered downpour potential into next week:
- Dew points on Long Island will mostly be between 70 and 75 degrees for the next 7 days, so there's no escaping the humidity! Heat Advisories for today and tomorrow, and it may be needed again for at least Monday (probably Tuesday as well). You know the deal with the potential for scattered slow-moving thunderstorms with some torrential downpours, mostly inland, and especially tomorrow afternoon/evening, but not everyone will get it, even there. The best chance for Long Island is in Nassau and early evening tomorrow, but there will also be scattered downpours Saturday afternoon. In these situations, you have to keep an eye on the sky and radar if you have outdoor events planned. I will likely post a future radar video later this morning.
- A slow-moving cold front will be approaching late Tuesday and move through sometime on Wednesday, so late next week looks much less humid and not nearly as warm/hot.
- There isn't much to worry about in the tropics for the next 7 to 10 days.
