Delta regains major hurricane status!
Hurricane Delta is once again a major (Cat 3 or above) hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 115 mph and a minimum central pressure of 959 mb. The wind field is now much larger than when it was a major hurricane in the western Caribbean. Additional intensification is likely tonight and it could approach Category 4 status, but it will probably fall short. Slight weakening is likely prior to landfall tomorrow late afternoon or evening, but it will still be a Cat 2 or Cat 3 at landfall in western Louisiana. Maximum projected storm surge is in the 7 to 11 foot range and projected rainfall amounts are 5 to 10 inches with isolated amounts up to 15 inches.
