Euro continues to show damaging wind gusts early Christmas morning:

While the actual max wind gusts will be lower than shown in this image (and this map shows max gusts in knots), there will be very strong wind gusts of 50 to 65 mph from the SSE along with moderate to heavy rain and 60-degree temperatures on Long Island and in southern New England between around 1 AM and 6 AM from west to east on Christmas morning. I'm sure there will be some gusts of 65 to 70 mph in the typical windier spots right on the water and at a slight distance above ground level.

NWS Boston just issued a High Wind Watch for gusts up to 65 mph in southeastern New England. NWS NY should be updating their forecast soon.
