Euro video for the unsettled weather for later this week:
There will be an extended period of unsettled weather in the northeast from New Year's Eve into Saturday morning.
The potentially strong wind gusts no longer appear to be a threat as most gusts will be in the 25 to 40 mph range.
The Euro is showing around 2 inches of rain for Long Island.
There may be some snow for the higher elevations of northern New England.
There may also be a period of freezing rain changing to rain for the higher elevations of NY state and central to northern New England.
