***Heat Wave***

- A Heat Advisory has been issued for Long Island for tomorrow from Noon to 8 PM, and it will likely be needed on Thursday as well. The humidity levels will increase the next couple of days and be the highest on Thursday with oppressive conditions!

- A cold front will bring the potential for severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon/evening, especially in New England (4th image).

LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

​​Today: Mostly sunny, hot, and moderately humid with highs around 91 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind mostly out of the W at 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, warm, and humid with lows in the mid 70's. Wind out of the W at around 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Sunny and very hot/humid with highs in the low 90's (low to mid 90's in northern Nassau) with a heat index in the upper 90's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the W at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and SSW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy and uncomfortably warm/humid with lows in the mid to upper 70's in Nassau and mid 70's in Suffolk. Wind out of the S at around 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, oppressively hot/humid (more humid than Wednesday), and becoming breezy with a chance of a late afternoon or evening thunderstorm with highs in the low to mid 90's in Nassau (heat index of near 100 degrees and low 90's in Suffolk (heat index in the upper 90's), but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the S to SSW at 5 to 10 mph in the S at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon with gusts over 25 mph.

Friday: Sunny and hot with moderate humidity with highs around 90 degrees (low 90's for the north shore), but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday: Mostly sunny and hot with moderate to high humidity with highs in the low 90's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind generally out of the WSW to SW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, hot, and very humid with a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm with highs in the upper 80's to near 90 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind generally out of the WSW to SSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
