**Henri, Flood Watch, rainfall totals, the tropics with more action, hot weather, weekend, and LI

- Tropical Depression Henri will finally start to pull out today, but the Flood Watch continues for Long Island until 2 AM Tuesday (late tonight). There will be periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms today moving slowly west to east across Long Island with the potential for torrential downpours at times, especially for Suffolk this afternoon into early evening (see future radar in 5th to 7th images).

- Rainfall totals so far from Henri have exceeded 8 inches in Brooklyn, 6 inches in Queens, 5 inches in Nassau, and 4 inches in Suffolk. You can check out the totals here: https://nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=202108230121-KOKX-NOUS41-PNSOKX

- There are 2 areas to watch in the tropics, which each having a 20% chance of tropical development within the next 5 days, according to the NHC. I have included the Euro ensembles map for the next 10 days (3rd image), and there is a pretty good chance of a hurricane heading towards the northern east coast of Mexico or possibly Texas. The system heading in the general direction of Bermuda has only a very slight chance of swinging around towards the east coast like Henri did. There will then likely be 2 more tropical systems in early September.

- Hot and humid for Long Island and the northeast tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. A cold front should move through Long Island early on Friday, but it will still be very warm. Much cooler and less humid for the weekend with highs in the upper 70's on Saturday and close to 80 on Sunday.
