- Nothing has changed for about a week now as I have been mentioning the potential for 60 mph wind gusts along the coast and at elevation Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning from west to east, and there is even a chance for 70+ mph wind gusts for coastal southeastern New England. - NWS Boston is still mentioning the possibility of having to issue a Hurricane Force Wind Watch for coastal southeastern New England for the first time since one of the 4 March 2018 nor'easters. - US National Weather Service New York NY is mentioning wind gusts potentially up to 60 mph for Long Island: "Latest guidance still shows 65-70 knots at 950mb, with only a weak inversion in place. The thinking remains that the area could see widespread 30 to 40 mph winds with gusts 45 to 60 mph, with the higher end of these values across the coast. The latest NBM (Model Blend) max wind gust probabilities of seeing 60 mph are as high as 60 percent along the Long Island south coast." - This image is just for a general idea as it's from the Euro and shows max wind gusts in knots, although it generally overdoes the high-end max gusts by around 10 mph.
