High Wind Warning for LI with gusts up to 65 mph or possibly 70 mph! Power outages coming!
After I have been posting about this for 5 or 6 days, the National Weather Service is finally all in. The 1st image is not from a model; it's the projected peak gusts by the National Weather Service. You won't see that too often with gusts of 64 to 68 mph! Prepare for downed trees and power outages. The High Wind Warning is in effect from 6 PM tomorrow to 10 AM Friday. The peak gusts should be between midnight and 7 AM on Long Island.

Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
