HWRF comes in strong for Zeta:
The 06Z run of the HWRF model, which is the best model for hurricane intensity, came in very strong with Zeta. It's showing 962 mb at landfall tomorrow evening. So, while the National Hurricane Center is projecting it to be a cat 1 at landfall, it could be a cat 2 with 100 mph winds.
The 3rd image shows the maximum projected wind gusts from the National Weather Service. It looks choppy because it's a compilation from the different NWS offices, but it gives the general idea of 80 to 100 mph wind gusts along the shore at landfall.
Rainfall amounts will not be extreme due to the faster motion, so rainfall totals will be in the 2 to 5 inch range (see 4th image).
