- You all know about the mild week, especially from Wednesday into Friday morning with some showers generally from late afternoon Thursday through Friday morning. The cold front will bring falling temperatures Friday afternoon and windy conditions with a very cold Friday night and a relatively cold Saturday.
- Temperatures rebound on Sunday into early to mid next week, but then things could get more interesting in the northeast by the end of next week with some colder air.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon with highs in the low 50's in Nassau and western Suffolk, around 50 degrees in central Suffolk, and cooler in eastern Suffolk. Wind out of the N at 10 to 20 mph in the morning and then out of the WSW at around 10 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight: Partly cloudy and becoming windy after midnight with lows in the mid 30's in Nassau and low 30's in Suffolk. Wind generally out of the W at 10 to 15 mph in the evening and then out of the NW at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph after midnight.
Tomorrow (Valentine's Day): Sunny and windy in the morning with highs around 50 degrees in Nassau and in the upper 40's in Suffolk, but mid 40's by Montauk. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph in the morning and then out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph by late afternoon.
Tomorrow night: Increasing clouds with lows in the mid 30's in Nassau and low 30's in Suffolk. Wind generally light and variable at around 5 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy in the morning with a very slight chance of a light shower early and then becoming mostly sunny and breezy in the afternoon with highs in the mid 50's in Nassau and western Suffolk and low 50's in central and eastern Suffolk. Wind out of the SSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Thursday: Increasing clouds in the morning and cloudy in the afternoon with a 60% of scattered showers by late afternoon and becoming breezy with highs around 60 degrees in Nassau and mid to upper 50's in Suffolk, coolest east. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SSW at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Friday: Windy with rain ending around early afternoon with partial clearing late with highs in the mid 50's in the morning and falling into the upper 40's by late afternoon. Wind out of the SW/WSW at 10 to 20 mph in the morning and WNW in the afternoon at 15 to 25 mph with up to 30 mph.
Saturday: Sunny with highs around 40 degrees. Wind out of the W at 10 to 15 mph.
Sunday: Increasing clouds with highs in the upper 40's. Wind out of the SW at 10 to 20 mph.
