- The details for Long Island into the middle of next week are in the forecast below, and we do have the snow for portions of southern to central New England on Friday that I posted about late last night, and the NWS in Boston did increase their snow amounts (see 2nd image) this morning, like I expected after I posted the snow maps from the HRRR and NAM.
- We have the one system that will swing through the northeast around next Wednesday into early Thursday that could bring snow to northern New England, but let's see how that one evolves.
- The potential storm for the 13th to 15th has a large amount of uncertainty in the track (see 3rd image), so everything is still on the table for Long Island from a miss to mostly rain to a big snowstorm, as you can see in the maps below. Let's just say that the chances for a snowstorm are around 20% to 25% right now. I have included the snow maps from all 50 Euro ensemble members below, and e50 is epic, LOL.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Patchy morning fog, otherwise cloudy with a slight chance of a shower with temperatures nearly steady around 50 degrees in Nassau and generally in the upper 40's in Suffolk. Wind out of the NE at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Cloudy with a chance of shower in the evening with scattered showers becoming likely towards and after midnight with lows around 40 degrees. Wind out of the ENE at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow: Cloudy with scattered showers likely in the morning and then becoming more scattered in the early afternoon and then just a slight chance of a late afternoon shower with highs in the mid to upper 40's. Wind out of the NE at around 5 mph in the morning and then out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.
Tomorrow night: Partly cloudy with lows in the low to mid 30's. Wind out of the WNW to W at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday: Partly sunny with highs in the low to mid 40's. Wind out of the WNW at around 10 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs around 40 degrees. Wind out of the NW and then W late in afternoon at 5 to 10 mph.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of scattered showers in the morning and then becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 40's. Wind out of the WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40's. Wind out of the W at 5 to 10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers in the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 40's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph.
