Long Island wind gusts and tropics:
The National Weather Service was late to the party, but they have increased their maximum wind gust forecast for Long Island to 48 mph (1st image). The maximum projected wind gusts from the HRRR model are shown in the 2nd image, but they are probably a little too high. See previous post for more information, but this is basically for midnight to 7 AM tomorrow.
I will continue to watch the tropics, but the new 06Z Euro ensembles for the next 6 days are shown in the 3rd image. The National Hurricane Center is still at a 50% chance of tropical development in the western Caribbean in the next 5 days.
