Mild weather starts tomorrow, and the ensembles are slightly less bullish on snow next week:

You all know about the relative warmth starting tomorrow and lasting into Friday when the cold front will move through with a chance of a few showers.


While there is still a slight chance of snow next week, even on Long Island, the models and ensembles aren't quite as bullish as they were yesterday. However, it's still an uncertain forecast and the models will be jumping around, so I will continue to update.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:


Today: Sunny this morning with a few more clouds possible by late afternoon with highs around 40 degrees. Wind out of the NW in the morning at 5 to 10 mph, and then shifting to W by late afternoon.

Tonight: Partly to mostly cloudy with light winds. Lows mostly in the low 30's.

Tomorrow: Partly to mostly sunny and mild with highs ranging from the mid to upper 50's in northwest Nassau to the upper 40's to low 50's for southeastern Suffolk. Wind mostly out of the WNW to W at around 10 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and mild with highs in the low to mid 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind mostly out of the SSE in the afternoon at 10 to 15 mph.

Thursday: Partly cloudy and mild with highs mostly in the upper 50's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the SW at 10 to 20 mph.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of a few scattered showers as the cold front moves through. Mild with highs in the upper 50's and possibly low 60's for northwest Nassau, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind mostly out of the WSW to W at 10 to 20 mph.

Saturday: Partly cloudy and cooler with highs in the upper 40's.
