My thoughts on the upcoming systems with a stronger storm for the middle of next week:

- See below for the details for Long Island for the next several days.

- Snow for northern NY/New England with some snow and ice for central NY/New England Thursday into Friday. The Model Blend snow map isn't updating on my site, so I have included the Euro ensemble mean snow map (2nd image) to give a general idea.

- There is a lot of uncertainty for the potential system for Sunday night into Monday with not all models and ensembles showing it, so for now let's just leave it as something to watch that could bring some snow to the northeast and most likely mostly rain for Long Island, but don't rule out snow completely just yet as some of the Euro ensemble members are showing.

- A potentially much stronger northeast storm is possible for next Wednesday into Thursday morning. Early indications are that it would be a big rain and wind producer for Long Island and southern New England with any snow likely being confined to northern NY/New England, but there is obviously great uncertainty in the details since it's 8 days away.

- There is good agreement on colder air for the northeast behind the storm next Wednesday/Thursday, which could set the stage for an end of the month northeast winter storm.
