New NWS Model Blend rainfall for Saturday and what the NWS covering Long Island has to say:

"The coastal low some days back that had the potential for a moderate rainfall event late Friday night into Saturday has become more of a non-factor in the global models. The low looks to be far enough south and east to spare the region any decent rainfall with the showers more or less associated with a shortwave trough moving through the Mid Atlantic region. The 12Z GFS is farther north with this feature, taking some heavier showers north and west of the NYC metro Saturday. Still though showers are in the forecast with the highest chances across portions of NE NJ, NYC, and the Lower Hudson Valley. However, should this overall trend continue, this may only pan out to be nothing more than scattered showers for the region."
