One more day to get through with some thunderstorms later and then the summer-like weather arrives!

LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Some patchy early morning fog and then cloudy and humid with only a slight chance of a widely scattered shower in the morning and then a good chance of showers and thunderstorms with moderate to heavy downpours possible, mostly between around 4 PM and 7 PM from northwest to southeast. Highs mostly in the mid 70's. Wind out of the SSW to SW at around 10 mph, but strong gusty winds of 30 to 50 mph are possible in any thunderstorm.

Tonight: A chance of early evening showers and thunderstorms and then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50's to low 60's. Wind out of the SW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Mostly sunny with highs mostly in the low to mid 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end and some upper 80's are possible in central to northern Nassau. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Sunny and hot with highs mostly in the mid to upper 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end around 90 degrees in central to northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and out of the SSW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Monday: Sunny and hot with highs mostly in the mid to upper 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end and in the upper 80's to around 90 degrees for central to northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk. Wind out of the S to SW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and SSW at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy, hot, and a little more humid with a slight chance of a late afternoon shower or thunderstorm with highs mostly in the mid to upper 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end and in the upper 80's to around 90 degrees for central to northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk. Wind out of the WSW at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and SSW at around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with moderate humidity and a slight chance of a late afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm with highs in the mid 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end and in the upper 80's for central to northern Nassau and northwestern Suffolk.

Thursday: Partly cloudy and cooler with highs in the upper 70's to low 80's.
