Potential Hurricane, Fire Tornado, and Extreme Heat
- The 15-day Euro ensembles map shows that the *potential* exists for a landfalling hurricane in the southeastern United States towards the end of the month. Nothing to worry about now, but it's something I will be watching.
- Because it's 2020, for the first time in history, a Tornado Warning has been issued in California for a fire-induced tornado: a rotating smoke plume being ingested into a pyrocumulonimbus cloud.
- An extreme heat wave is taking place in California, and on Monday the National Weather Service is showing projected high temperatures as high as 128 degrees in the hottest portions of the desert.
