Quick 4 AM update on upcoming snow chances and the Long Island forecast:
Let's see what the 12Z model runs show today, but the models are having a hard time with this upcoming pattern as they are jumping all over the place with any storm threat. The overnight runs were not as cold and less bullish on any snowstorm threat for Long Island. I still think we have to watch the week of the 18th though.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today (Sunday): Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30's to near 40 degrees. Wind out of the N to NNW at around 10 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear and cold with lows mostly in the low to mid 20's in Suffolk and mid to upper 20's in Nassau, but the upper teens are possible in the Pine Barrens region of Suffolk as the wind will go calm, which will allow for radiational cooling with the clear skies.
Tomorrow (Monday): Partly to mostly cloudy with highs around 40 degrees.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with highs in the low 40's
Wednesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 40's.
Thursday: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 40's.
Friday: Increasing clouds in the afternoon and a little breezy with highs in the mid 40's.
