- Invest 90L is drifting towards the central to northern east coast of Florida, but it has very little convection with it. The NHC is giving it a 50% chance of tropical development.

- For Long Island, the details are in the forecast below, but some showers this morning and then mostly cloudy before a chance of a thunderstorm in the late afternoon and evening. It will then be hot tomorrow and Tuesday with highs in the upper 80's to near 90 degrees. A cold front will bring some thunderstorms Thursday evening, and then beautiful weather for Friday and Saturday with low humidity and highs in the low 80's.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Humid with morning showers and then mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a chance of a heavy shower or thunderstorm by late afternoon or early evening with highs mostly in the low 80's. Wind out of the SSW at around 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy and humid with a 60% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening, and then becoming partly cloudy after midnight. Lows in the low 70s. Wind out of the SSW at 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy and hot with highs mostly in the upper 80's to near 90 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind mostly out of the NW to WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny and hot with highs mostly in the upper 80's to near 90 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NW in the morning at around 5 mph and then out of the SSW at around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm in the late afternoon with highs mostly in the mid 80's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the NW in the morning at around 5 mph and then out of the SW at around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday: Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Highs in the low to mid 80's. Wind out of the SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny with low humidity highs in the low to mid 80's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with low humidity with highs in the low 80's.
