Quick snowstorm update from the NAM:
For Long Island, the NAM is showing an earlier start on Thursday with a quick burst of heavy snow late in the morning into early afternoon before changing to sleet. It's basically showing 5 inches of snow for Long Island in a 3.5-hour period on Thursday. This timing is a bit of an outlier for now, and there is plenty of time to fine-tune the forecast, but I just wanted to let you all know what the NAM is showing. For the last 2 images I had to switch to the 12-km NAM since the 3-km NAM only goes out 60 hours. So, the images below are for Thursday at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, 7 PM, and Friday at 4 AM and 10 AM.
More updates this afternoon!
