Firstly, regarding tonight, the Winter Weather Advisory for Long Island was canceled with the exception of northern Nassau and northwest Suffolk where it will remain in effect until 1 AM for the potential for some freezing rain.
The 1st image shows the projected 24-hour snowfall from 1 AM Thursday to 1 AM Friday from the National Weather Service model blend.
The 2nd and 3rd images show the projected snowfall for Long Island and Boston, respectively, for the next 15 days as a running total from every Euro ensemble member.
At this point, there is no change to the general thinking of around 3 to 5 inches of snow for Long Island on Thursday before the transition to sleet and then rain in the evening/night. The starting time is still to be determined, but it looks like around mid-morning.
