Quick Update on Tropical Depression Eleven and Long Island Weather
Quick update on Tropical Depression Eleven and Long Island weather:
- Tropical Depression Eleven is expected to be upgraded to Tropical Storm Josephine today, and it's expected to generally strengthen for the next few days, especially tomorrow into Friday, to maximum sustained winds of 60 mph. There is even a slight chance that it makes a run at hurricane status. However, wind shear and dry air will cause weakening this weekend. It's not a threat to the United States.
- For Long Island, very warm and humid today with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms with potentially heavy downpours as the cold front stalls over our area. Tomorrow will still be humid with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, but the chances diminish towards evening. There is some uncertainty with how far south of Long Island the front makes it to later this week.
- More detailed updates will return if I ever get cable/internet restored.
