Relatively cooler weather ahead:
See below for the Long Island forecast, but we will generally have relatively cooler weather for the next week or so. The rain chances are generally from Noon to 8 PM today, a few showers on Saturday from a Norlun trough connected to the offshore storm, and some rain mostly from Sunday evening into mid-day on Monday. As of now, Tuesday to Thursday next week looks dry.
LONG ISLAND FORECAST:
Today: Cloudy with more widespread showers generally starting later this morning into early afternoon from west to east and then heavier rain and possibly a thunderstorm around late afternoon. Highs mostly in the low 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind mostly out of the NE at 5 to 10 mph.
Tonight: Showers ending generally between around 7 PM and 9 PM from west to east with clearing skies overnight with lows mostly in the upper 40's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Tomorrow: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the low to mid 60's. Wind out of the NW at 10 to 15 mph.
Friday: Partly sunny with highs in the low 60's. Wind mostly out of the ENW to ESE at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday: Cloudy with a 50% chance of a few light showers around late morning and during the afternoon with highs in the upper 50's to around 60 degrees. Wind mostly out of the N to NNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday: Increasing clouds with a slight chance of showers by late afternoon. Highs in the low 60's.
Monday: Cloudy with a 50% chance of showers, possibly ending by early to mid afternoon. Highs in the low to mid 60's.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 60's.
