Snow and rain maps with some comments and a beautiful day today with the Long Island forecast:

- Today will be the warmest day for a very long time with temperatures getting up to around 76 degrees in Nassau and western Suffolk and around 73 to 75 for the rest of Suffolk. It will still get into the low 70's tomorrow and around or just above 70 on Friday. It will then be much cooler this weekend, and there could be a couple of light showers on Saturday, but it won't be a washout by any means. The biggest uncertainty is then for Tuesday next week with the GFS and Canadian models showing rain, while the Euro keeps us dry.

- Fairly significant snow is showing up for the higher elevations of northern and western New England and NY state on the 16-day snow map from the GFS (3rd image), but the 15-day snow map from the Euro ensemble mean (4th image) shows that the GFS is probably overdone and the chances are probably low.
