Snowstorm update from the HRRR (High Resolution Rapid Refresh) model:
We are finally within range of the HRRR model, which runs every hour and goes out 18 hours, but 4 times a day it goes out 48 hours. For Long Island, the start time is around 4 PM to 5:30 M from southwest to northeast. It's showing a heavy thumping of snow before sleet mixes in after midnight, especially for the south shore and eastern Suffolk, with some rain there eventually.
This video goes from 3 PM tomorrow to 7 AM Thursday, and the snow map only goes through 7 AM Thursday when the run ends. See previous posts for more information and snow maps.
