Some nice days before the rain arrives:

It will still have to be fine-tuned, but as of now, the main period of rain for Long Island looks to be from Saturday night, mainly after 10 PM, through Sunday morning. While the National Weather Service is mentioning a possible Wind Advisory, the Euro and Euro ensembles are not showing it as they are in remarkable agreement with showing max gusts of around 30 mph.


LONG ISLAND FORECAST:

Today: Mostly sunny overall and a little breezy with highs in the low 60's, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the W/WNW at 10 to 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with a decreasing breeze with lows in the low 40's in Nassau and around 40 in Suffolk. Wind out of the NW at around 10 mph in the evening and then out of the NNE at less than 5 mph after midnight

Tomorrow: Partly cloudy in the morning and then mostly sunny in the afternoon with highs in the mid 60's in Nassau and low to mid 60's in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind light and variable in the morning and then out of the S at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tomorrow night: Mostly clear with lows around 50 in Nassau and in the mid to upper 40's in Suffolk, but some low 40's in the Pine Barrens area. Wind out of the SSE at 5 to 10 mph in the evening and then becoming nearly calm after midnight.

Friday: Mostly sunny overall with highs in the low 70's in Nassau and around 70 in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and especially the east end. Wind out of the E at around 5 mph in the morning and then out of the ESE at 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday: Early morning fog/drizzle is possible, otherwise mostly cloudy and becoming breezy with rain/wind overnight. Highs near 70 degrees, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the E at 5 to 10 mph in the morning and then out of the SSE at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Rain possibly ending by early afternoon and breezy with highs in the low to mid 60's. Wind out of the S then SSW at 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 25 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 60's in Nassau and around 60 in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the WNW at 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with highs in the low 60's in Nassau and around 60 in Suffolk, but cooler for the south shore and east end. Wind out of the WNW at 10 to 15 mph.
